New Delhi: With the National Conference returning to power after the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, Union Minister Giriraj Singh has ruled out the possibility of restoring Article 370 in the Constitution. Article 370 was abrogated by Parliament on August 5, 2019. Giriraj Singh is known for his strict Hindutva stance. He said in Rajat Sharma’s show ‘Aap Ki Adalat’ aired on India TV that ‘Even if Rahul Gandhi and Farooq Abdullah shout and offer Namaz in the morning, 370 is not going to come again.’
Giriraj Singh: ‘Modi ji left no stone unturned for the development of Kashmir, but why did the Muslims of the valley not vote for BJP?’
Rajat Sharma: Because you have to win his heart?
Giriraj Singh: ‘Don’t tell me how to win hearts. Should I tear out the heart and make it look like Hanuman ji? I didn’t even abuse anyone in my constituency, yet we don’t vote, then we will definitely say… Even if we perform aarti for them (Muslim voters), they still don’t vote for me.
The Union Minister said, ‘The situation in Kashmir was dominated by stone pelters and terrorists. People were afraid to go to Kashmir. After Modiji removed Article 370, today people go to Lal Chowk out of fear. They are going only because of Modiji. Modiji’s policies brought peace and development in Kashmir. Many hotels opened today. Many MOUs were signed. Villages developed. We were hopeful that (will get votes). Congress, Farooq Abdullah Mufti’s people were encouraging stone pelters, Modiji ended that. I hoped that the people of the valley, the Muslim people would also vote. Now they have to think.
99 percent of the arrested terrorists are Muslims
The Union Minister said, ‘I do not say that all Muslims are terrorists, but the question arises why only 99 percent of those caught in terrorism are Muslims.’ When Rajat Sharma said that terrorists have no religion or religion, Giriraj Singh replied: ‘It is a matter of saying. Religion itself is coming in the way these days. What other reason is there to commit terrorism in the country? Now there is Narendra Modi’s rule, where bomb blasts do not happen. But why 10 years ago, of all the bomb blasts that took place and of all the modules that were captured, 99 percent were Muslims. This question arises.
Rajat Sharma: But you say a little more loudly that not all Muslims are terrorists, some people are among them.
Giriraj Singh: ‘What I am saying is that Muslims are not terrorists at all. But those who are caught, 90 percent are the same. So why not say this?
Rajat Sharma: But give some praise to those who do good work.
Giriraj Singh: I praise him. He is a good man, I also salute him.
The Union Minister alleged that madrassas and mosques are being used to promote terrorists. He said, ‘In 1947, there were hardly two-three thousand mosques in India. Today it has crossed three lakhs. They have illegally occupied Bangladesh border and Nepal border. Yogiji recently took stock of the madrasas and found more than 500 illegal ones. Madrasa and mosque are the home of terror. There instead of making them human beings, they teach them to take them on the wrong path.
Rajat Sharma: You once said that Deoband (Darul ul Uloom) is Gangotri of terrorism?
Giriraj Singh: Where is Pakistan’s Masood Azhar a product of? It is a product of Deoband. You tell me, if I don’t call him a terrorist then what can I say that he is a religious person? Dozens of terrorists came out of Deoband, some went upstairs, some are alive.
Partition was on religious basis, India belongs to Hindus
The Union Minister clearly said that India belongs to Hindus. He said, ‘I say this here on pain of sting. In 1947, partition took place on the basis of religion. You say, yes or no. When partition took place on the basis of religion, if Pandit Nehru had sent all the Muslims (to Pakistan), then today neither Waqf Board would have been born, nor Owaisi would have been born, nor Burhan Wani would have been born. Nasrullah (Hezbollah Chief) dies in Lebanon, suffers stomach ache, brothers in Delhi, Mumbai. If you link yourself with Nasrullah, we will be in trouble. People eat here, sing about other places. This won’t work, it won’t work.
Rajat Sharma: In response to your points, people like Maulana Arshad Madani say that see there are 20 crore Muslims, no one can make them return home. If anyone says such a thing then he is ignorant.
Giriraj Singh: ‘Any Muslim in the country should tell me if from 1947 till now any Hindu in any village of the country has thrown a stone on his tazia. We did not throw it. When their population is 5 percent, then uncle or uncle says, if it is 10 percent then they roll up their sleeves, if it is 15 percent then they do love jihad, they will not let our Ramnavmi, Hanuman Jayanti Yatra, Kanwar Yatra go from the streets. So there would be pain in my mind that I would have gone away in 1947 itself. At least this street does not create a gap between a Hindu or a Muslim. Look at what is happening in Kerala today. Love Jihad is going on in the entire country under a plan for Ghazwa-e-Hind, so why would we not say that if all the people had been sent to Pakistan in 1947, then these things would not have happened in our country today.
Congress cheated voters in Lok Sabha elections
On the question of how BJP achieved a surprising hat-trick victory in Haryana, Giriraj Singh replied: ‘The wooden pot does not boil again and again. In the Parliament elections, this Tukde Tukde gang used wooden pots, showed the Constitution and said that the Constitution is in danger, spread confusion regarding reservation and the people (of Haryana) said that now you will have to be punished. The public punished. Sometimes the one spreading confusion succeeds. The work that Narendra Modi did in favor of reservation, perhaps any Prime Minister would have done. Be it SC, ST reservation, or giving constitutional status to the Backward Commission or giving 10 percent reservation to the economically backward in the general category. This is Narendra Modi’s dedication towards the Constitution. But nowadays he (Rahul) shouts, caste, caste. Now in the platform of Vishwa Sundari they ask that no one is extremely backward or tribal. They ask everyone about their caste, but do not tell their own caste. I am asking with a challenge… Rahul ji, please tell me what is the caste of you, your father and your grandfather?
