New Delhi. Preparations for the upcoming assembly elections in Delhi have intensified. Aam Aadmi Party released the second list of its candidates on Saturday. AAP led by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has expressed confidence in the new faces as well as old leaders of the party in this list.

A total of 20 candidates have been given place in the second list. These include many leaders who have recently left BJP and Congress and joined AAP. At the same time, some sitting MLAs and defeated candidates have been given another chance. There is also a lot of discussion about Haji Yunus’s ticket being canceled and Manish Sisodia’s seat being changed.

AAP had released its first list in November, in which 11 candidates were included. Six of these leaders had recently left BJP and Congress and joined the party. At the same time, three outgoing MLAs and three defeated candidates were also given a chance.

AAP’s strategy and Kejriwal’s confidence

AAP has expressed confidence in its old MLAs as well as the leaders who have recently joined the party. By including new faces like Anil Jha, Bibi Tyagi, Veer Singh Dhingan, Brahm Singh Tanwar, Zubair Chaudhary and Somesh Shaukeen, the party has indicated that it is entering the fray with new equations.

Last election performance

AAP had achieved a historic victory in the 2015 assembly elections by winning 67 seats. However, this number dropped to 62 in 2020, but the party returned to power with a thumping majority.

Election contest begins

After the second list of AAP, the indications of the party’s electoral equation and strategy have become clear. While the experience of old leaders is visible in the new list, the party has sharpened its preparations by including new faces.
