India had decided that by 2030, 20 percent of ethanol would be added to petrol. He achieved this goal in 2025 itself.
By adding ethanol to petrol, the vehicle owners on one side received the gift of not increasing the price of fuel. At the same time, the Modi government also saved a valuable foreign currency of 1.36 lakh crore by adding ethanol to petrol. Apart from this, there was less pollution from vehicles by adding ethanol to petrol. As a result, India also succeeded in preventing 698 tonnes of carbon dioxide gas emissions. PM Narendra Modi always emphasizes environmental protection. On his own instructions, India started the work of adding ethanol to petrol under the pilot project. Now if you buy a liter of petrol, then it contains 200 ml ethanol. The Modi government is also working towards running a train with ethanol.
By adding ethanol to petrol, not only the vehicle owners and the central government saved money, it also brought a chance to bat for the farmers who grow sugarcane. Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri had said that in the last 11 years, 1.18 lakh crores were paid to farmers growing sugarcane due to the mixing of ethanol in petrol. This increased the income of farmers growing sugarcane. At the same time, the economy in villages also strengthened. The Modi government has decided that by 2030, India will reduce carbon emissions by 45 per cent from the year 2005. The Modi government has also decided that by 2030, 500 gigwot non -fossil fuel energy capacity will be established in the country.
