Stampede at Barabati Stadium: India vs England match ticket sales stir
The magic of cricket at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack is speaking, where cricket lovers came to the ticket counter for the second ODI match between India and England on 9 February. The seriousness of the situation was such that some people stood in the queue all night for the ticket, and when it was morning, the crowd had taken the form of Afra-Tafri.
Afraid and police generosity
The crowd was so much that a stampede -like situation arose. The allegation of women fans like Monica was so much that the police was giving tickets to some people without queues, which raised questions on the ideal system. This is the reason that the underprivileged people standing in queues started opposing this generosity of the police.
The Alam of Thethai was that for 11,500 tickets, 10,500 people were already in queue overnight and the number of people increased from controlled by morning. Fans like Isha, a student from Kolkata, got disappointed when the police evacuated the queue in emergency situations.
Things settled in summer
Some people fainted among the crowd. The police had to face a lot of difficulty in handling the situation. Cuttack DCP Jagmohan Meena and other top officials of the administration arrived on the spot to take stock of the situation. Despite the heat, people looked plagued due to lack of proper water system.
The Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) decided the rule of giving only 2 tickets per person on a certificate for ticket sale. But in the absence of smooth process, all the tickets were over by 5 February, due to which many fans returned without tickets disappointed.
Black side of black marketing too
The wild mob of women put the question in the circle of questions whether they were queuing under a plan, later for black marketing of tickets.
Who is the fault of this entire chaos-on the lower-sightedness of the freight, the disorder of the administration, or those who blow the rules? Now it will be interesting to see if the Indian Cricket Board and OCA will take any concrete steps on these incidents.
