Patna, the capital of Bihar, is going to get the gift of metro soon. About 90% of the 6.2 km long primary corridor from Malahi Pakri to Pataliputra bus terminal has been completed. If everything goes according to the plan, then by 15 August 2025, the first metro train of Patna will start running on the track.
Stations and track work in final stages
Currently, the work of finalizing the metro station and laying the track is going on fast. According to officials associated with Metro Rail Corporation, the work of laying the track has started and construction work at all stations is in the final stages.
Corridor-wise progress
Pataliputra bus terminal from Malahi Pakri:
This part is on the surface (elevated) and 90% of the work is completed.
Patna Junction to ISBT section:
It also includes underground part, and 88% of the work is completed.
Rajendra Nagar to Patna Junction:
The metro depot and yard are being built in this section. 70.43% work has been completed.
Danapur Cantt to Khemanichak:
Some sections in this part are on the surface and some are underground. Here 61% work is complete.
Obstacles are also coming in front
Problems such as encroachment near Khemanchak station and traffic jams on NH-30 are hindering manufacturing. The administration is engaged in solving these problems so that the work can be completed on time.
