The controversy over the trainee doctor rape-murder case at RG Kar Medical College in West Bengal is not taking the name of stopping. After the CBI, now ED has entered the case. ED conducted raids at many places today i.e. on Friday. In the case of financial irregularities of RG Kar Hospital, ED has raided the places of Sandeep Ghosh and other people associated with him. It is being told that ED raids are going on at 5 to 6 locations in Kolkata. These raids are being conducted at the places of Sandeep Ghosh and other people associated with him.
Let us tell you that the CBI had arrested former principal of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital Dr. Sandeep Ghosh and three others for their alleged involvement in financial irregularities. The three others arrested were Ghosh’s security guard Afsar Ali (44) and hospital vendors Biplab Singha (52) and Suman Hazara (46). These people used to supply materials to the hospital.

During the tenure of Sandeep Ghosh as Principal, a complaint of financial irregularities in many cases in the institute was lodged by Dr. Akhtar Ali, former Deputy Superintendent of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. In this, he had accused Sandeep Ghosh of smuggling of unclaimed bodies in the hospital, corruption in disposal of bio-medical waste, nepotism in construction tenders. Kolkata Police was earlier investigating this case. After the order of the High Court, the CBI also took over this investigation.
It is worth noting that on August 19, Kolkata Police had registered a case against Sandip Ghosh under Sections 120B, 420 of IPC and Section 7 of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, but after the order of the High Court, CBI took over the investigation on August 24. Sandip Ghosh was arrested under these sections.
