The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has sought details details from the Commanding Officer of Pahalgam Unit, who first reached the spot with the Commandos of the Quick Action Team (QAT) on the day of terrorist attacks on the Basaron tourist destination. Sources gave this information. Sources said that CRPF’s DG G. P. Singh did a video conference from Chhattisgarh, in which Commanding Officer Rajesh Kumar and other officers of the 116th Battalion, other company commanders and senior and junior rank officials attended.

Officials said that DG directed the Inspector General of Kashmir Zone to ask the Commanding Officer to ask for a minute-by-minute details of how the terrorist attack took place and whether there was any lapse from the unit.

Quick Action Team showed courage

Senior CRPF officials said that the Commanding Officer and his Quick Action Team introduced “very courage” on the spot and reached the spot at around 2.30 pm. According to officials, the unit reached Basaron in 40-45 minutes despite the standing climb when the unit was informed about the incident by the pony to the terrorists. According to sources, DG also “clarified that CRPF should conduct an independent campaign in Jammu and Kashmir and ensure that the area in which they are posted remain safe.” A senior headquarters official said that the force chief asked some questions so that “things should be improved” from further.
