Narinder Dhruv Batra, former president of Indian Olympic Association
A Delhi court on Monday accepted a closure report filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in a corruption case against former president of the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) Narinder Dhruv Batra. The court said that there is no flaw in the report of the investigating agency. Satisfied with the investigation conducted by the investigating officer. After this decision of the court, now Narinder Dhruv Batra’s statement has come.
Narinder Dhruv Batra’s statement
Narinder Dhruv Batra said, “I have no complaints to those who wanted to weaken me. As I had no political godfather. It is often said in our system that it can not see a big dream without strong support. However, I have always believed in hard work, honesty and dedication.”
He also said, “The posts I resigned were the following-
Member, International Olympic Committee (2019–2022) Chairman, International Hockey Federation (2016–2022) Chairman, Indian Olympic Association (2017–2022) Chairman, Commonwealth Sports Association India (2017–2022)
“Earned all four positions simultaneously”
He further said, “I was the only person in the world who held these four positions together, it was an honor and responsibility that I played with full honesty and commitment as I being an Indian.” Narinder Dhruv Batra said on his contribution to the Indian Games, “India’s bronze medal win in Hockey after 41 years at the Tokyo Olympics, 18 of the 32 sports participation in 32 sports and getting a historic 7 medal was not a coincidence. It was the result of all the schemes, strategic implementation and cooperation of all concerned aspects.” He further said, “From 2009 to 2022, I worked for 18 hours every day to pursue Indian Games. I am very proud of what was achieved during this period.”
PM Modi praised
Batra praised Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said, “I am thankful that at this time India got a Prime Minister who gives importance to sports, gives priority to players and working to create world class infrastructure for sports. I salute their foresight and dedication.”
He said, “As I said in the beginning, I do not have any maliciousness against anyone. I believe that destiny has my own way and I accept my destiny politely. God blesses those who have supported me and they also bless those who have opposed me and worked to remove me.”
