Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu said, “We will conduct a fair and detailed investigation and find out why this incident happened. We still have to find the number. It is very sad to know that (BJP leader) Vijay Rupani was also present there, and there were other citizens.”
He said, “I have been completely shaken by this sad and frightening incident. I am still in shock. The Prime Minister called me and asked me to come to the spot. At this time I can only think about the passengers and their families. There are many agencies in the rescue work. I do not want to say anything about the number. We were also there, and other citizens were also going to do fair and intensive investigation.
Ahmedabad police released a list of 25 injured in the Ahmedabad plane crash. Additional Chief Secretary, Gujarat Health Department said, “Ahmedabad Civil Hospital student hostels, staff quarters and other residential areas are located in the area where the plane crashed. About 50 of the injured have been brought to the Civil Hospital in Ahmedabad.”
A senior official of Gujarat’s Health Department said that DNA testing will be done to ensure the identity of those killed in the Air India aircraft accident in Ahmedabad city on Thursday afternoon. However, he refused to reveal the number of dead.
Dhananjay Dwivedi, Principal Secretary, State Health Department, said, “Ahmedabad Civil Hospital has made arrangements to collect DNA samples to identify those killed in aircraft accident. Close relatives like parents or children of the deceased will be able to give DNA samples in Kasoti Bhawan of Ahmedabad Civil Hospital, Ahmedabad Civil Hospital.”
Dwivedi said, “Many people were injured when the aircraft worked in residential quarters working in the civil hospital and studying in BJ Medical College. 50 injured in the incident is currently undergoing treatment in the civil hospital. The condition of all the patients is stable.”
AAIB will investigate aircraft accident
The Air India Bureau of Investigation (AAIB) will investigate the Air India aircraft accident at Ahmedabad Airport on Thursday. The Director General of AAIB and other officials including the investigation director of the agency will leave for Ahmedabad.
Under the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Aaib is responsible for classifying security incidents related to aircraft operating in Indian airspace. It conducts a detailed investigation into accidents and also suggests measures to improve security.
Air India aircraft collided with the hostel of BJ Medical College
The Air India aircraft going to London lost its height soon after flying and on Thursday, B.J. located in Meghaninagar area of Ahmedabad. The doctors of the medical college collided with the residential quarters, causing heavy damage to the buildings in the premises. Eyewitnesses gave this information.
He claimed that several people living in residential quarters located near Ahmedabad Airport were injured in the accident, although there was no official confirmation.
An eyewitness Haresh Shah told PTI that the aircraft was flying very low and it collided with the residential quarters of the doctors of the government college. He said, “There are many five -storey buildings that work as a residential quarter. Many people living in those apartments were injured as the buildings also caught fire.”
Three flights to Ahmedabad canceled
Officials at Ahmedabad Airport in Gujarat said that three flights from Chennai to Ahmedabad were canceled on Thursday after the plane crash. All three flights were operated by the private airline service company. He said that a flight was going towards Ahmedabad and later had to return after the incident, due to which Ahmedabad airport had to be closed.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah has spoken to the Chief Minister of Gujarat and promised all central assistance. At the same time, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Civil Aviation Minister Rammohan Naidu and reviewed the incident of Air India aircraft accident in Ahmedabad.

How did the accident happen?
According to preliminary information, the accident took place immediately after the takeoff in Meghaninagar area, causing chaos in the area. The aircraft Boeing was 787–8 Dreamliner, which was completely fuel for long distance flights. Due to this, there was a fierce fire and thick black smoke rising after the accident.
The incident occurred at 1:38 pm when the aircraft took off and crashed near Meghaninagar a few seconds. According to eyewitnesses, the smoke was seen till Vastrapur and Dharpur after the accident. Emergency services immediately became active. More than seven fire engines and several ambulances reached the spot, where the rescue operation is running loudly. Local people have also come forward to help the passengers. The number of casualties has not yet been officially confirmed.
