New Delhi. DNA matching continues to identify bodies in the Air India aircraft accident case in Ahmedabad. So far, 190 dead have been identified with the DNA test. 159 bodies have been handed over to their families. DNA is also being matched for the remaining bodies. Superintendent of Ahmedabad Civil Hospital, Dr. Rakesh Joshi said that among the 159 bodies assigned to their families after DNA matching, 123 Indians, 4 Portuguese, 27 UK citizens, 1 Canadian and 4 non -passengers who were local citizens.

At the same time, 33 other local citizens were also killed, mostly residents of BJ Medical College, resident doctors and medical staff. In fact, the building on which the aircraft crashed immediately after takeoff was a hostel of doctors of the medical college where lunch was going on. Apart from this building, many nearby buildings were also damaged. The Tata Group and Air India have announced compensation to the families of all the deceased.
