India’s Chief Justice Bhushan Ramakrishna Gavai and other judges of the Supreme Court on Thursday expressed their deep condolences to the families affected by the Air India aircraft going to London in Ahmedabad.
A release issued by the apex court said, “The Chief Justice of India and the Supreme Court’s associate judges, along with the officials of the Registry, express deep condolences to the families affected by the tragic aircraft accident in Ahmedabad today.”
CJI Gawai also expressed his concern for the residents of BJ Medical College, where the Air India plane crashed to London, causing heavy damage to the buildings in the campus.
The Chief Justice said, “Our sensations and prayers are with him in this difficult time. God should do power and consolation with the cooperation of his loved ones.”
Air India aircraft AL 171, including 242 people, including passenger and cabin crew, crashed shortly after flying from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad.
