On June 12, many people died in an Air India flight crash incident in Ahmedabad. After this incident, Air India flight is constantly being canceled. Since then, people are constantly facing trouble. Arjun Raj, a real estate executive living in Dubai, was preparing for his wedding in the city of Chennai in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu this July. The dates were fixed and his sister’s family was also ready to go along. Now only the annual holiday approval was left. He had not yet booked the ticket, but Air India flight AI906 was his first choice – time was perfect for the family.
Arjun said, I was just waiting for the holiday approval. Thank God that we did not book tickets. This is not a common holiday – I am married and now this cancellation… was not expected.
15 percent services were temporarily stopped
The AI906 flight runs between Dubai to Chennai and was involved in services that Air India has recently canceled. The airline is struggling these days due to extensive operational challenges and security checks. To maintain service stability and reduce disruption, Air India has temporarily stopped 15 percent of its international widebody flights.
Availability of seats less after cancellation
Arjun Raj needed a total of five tickets. He said that the airfare has already increased a lot, and after these cancellations, the availability of seats has reduced even more. If I had made booking earlier, now I would have to run. Now finding tickets for five people in another airline, that too will not be easy in such a short time.
At the same time, the situation was not so favorable for Imran Sheikh, another resident of Dubai. 32 -year -old Imran Sheikh, who is from Gulbarga district of Karnataka and currently working as an engineer in Dubai, booked a ticket for Air India flight AI2204 (Dubai to Hyderabad) a few weeks ago. His flight was in mid -July and he paid 680 dirhams for this. Now, when this flight has also been canceled and the fare of other flights is increasing rapidly, Imran is facing unwanted difficulties.
Dubai’s migrant tension
Imran Sheikh said, I saw today – Hyderabad tickets for the same date have now reached above 980, fares are continuously increasing. The longer I do, the more difficult it will be to see the appropriate option. However, Imran has not received any formal information from the airline so far. He said, I have not received any email or message till now. I am monitoring the situation and is not currently canceling the ticket on my behalf.
Meanwhile, the uncertainty of Air India’s international and domestic services has forced many Indians living in UAE to think of their summer holiday plans again. Passengers are upset due to rental instability, cancellation of flights and limited seat availability.
