This statement of the Union Civil Aviation Minister is important because the US newspaper The Wall Street Journal, citing an interim inquiry report of the Air India aircraft accident, reported that the aircraft’s captain Sumit Sabharwal had shut down the fuel switch. Whereas, this claim of American newspaper is not based on facts. The interim inquiry report released by the Air India aircraft accident has a conversation about the closure of fuel switch between the pilots, but it does not prove that Captain Sumit Sabharwal or Clive Kundar, co -pilot with him, closed the fuel switch. According to the cockpit voice recording, Captain Sabharwal asked the co -pilot why you closed the fuel switch. On this, Clive Kunder, co -pilot of Air India aircraft, said that he did not stop the fuel switch.
The video of Air India aircraft came before the accident. The video showed that the wheels of the aircraft were below.
Air India aircraft flew from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad to Gatvik Airport in London at 1.38 pm on June 12. In 37 seconds of flying, the aircraft came down and hit the medical college hostel. 241 out of 242 passengers aboard the aircraft died in the accident. Whereas, 19 people, including several medical students, were also killed by the fall of the aircraft. During the investigation of the Air India aircraft accident, it was revealed that the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) had already issued a warning related to the fuel switch of some models of Boeing aircraft. Air India crashed aircraft was in those models of Boeing.
