Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who arrived on a two -day Trinidad and Tobago tour, once again talked about a new India and told the claim that India will soon join the top three economies in the world. During this time, he bowed to the adventure journey of 45 percent of Indian origin people living here.
Addressing a gathering of overseas Indians on Thursday, Modi said that India is the land of opportunities today and the benefit of its growth and progress is reaching the “most needy”. PM Modi said, “The sky is not even a limit for the new India.”
Let us know that Modi participated in the program a few hours after reaching Trinidad and Tobago in the second phase of his five countries. This is the first bilateral visit of an Indian Prime Minister since 1999, the Caribbean Islands of an Indian Prime Minister.
The population here is about 13 lakhs, out of which 45 percent are of Indian origin. The Prime Minister, whose first event in the Caribbean country was with the Indian community, said it seems completely natural, because “we are part of a family.”
More than 4,000 people including Trinidad and Tobago’s Prime Minister Kamla Prasad-Bissar, his cabinet members, MPs and many other dignitaries attended the event.
During this, PM Modi said, “The journey of the Indian community in Trinidad and Tobago is full of courage. The circumstances that your ancestors faced could also break the strongest souls. But they faced difficulties with hope. They faced the problems with firmness. They left the Ganges and Yamuna behind, but kept the Ramayana in their heart.”
He said in an X post, “The community program in Port of Spain was fantastic. People’s energy and warmth made it really unforgettable. Obviously, our cultural bonds shine!”
In his address, the Prime Minister emphasized that Trinidad and Tobago have benefited “cultural, economic and spiritually” with the contribution of members of the Indian community.
He said, “This country has benefited from his contribution cultural, economic and spiritually. Look at the influence of all of you on this beautiful country.”
Modi said that he has brought some water of Ram temple replica and some water of Saryu river in Ayodhya. He said, “You all know that earlier this year, the world’s largest spiritual gathering, Mahakumbh, was completed. I have also received the honor to take the water of Mahakumbh with me.”
He said, “I request Kamala ji (Prime Minister) to offer holy water of Saryu River and Mahakumbh in the Ganges stream here. These holy water should bless the people of Trinidad and Tobago.”
Modi said that India is actively working on creating a broad database of the Girmitia community. The community consists of indigenous laborers sent to gardens in South Africa, Fiji, Mauritius and Caribbean islands from British India.
In his address, the Prime Minister also highlighted the flexibility of the Indian economy and the direction of moving upwards. He said, “India is the fastest growing major economy in the world. Soon we will join the top three economies in the world. The benefit of India’s growth and progress is reaching the most needy.”
The Prime Minister said that India has shown that poverty can be defeated by strengthening the poor and for the first time there has been a belief in crores of people that the country can be freed from poverty. Modi said that India’s growth is being run by its “innovative and energetic” youth.
He said, “Today India is the third largest startup center in the world. About half of them are women as directors. About 120 startups have unicorn status.”
He said, “Artificial intelligence, semiconductor and new engines of National Mission Development for Quantum Computing. In a way, innovation is becoming a mass movement.”
Modi also demonstrated India’s Integrated Payment Interface (UPI) and said that it has revolutionized digital payments.
PM Modi said, “About 50 percent of the world’s real-time digital transactions are in India. I congratulate Trinidad and Tobago that it is the first country to adopt UPI in the region. Now sending money will be as easy as sending ‘Good Morning’ text messages! And I promise that it will be faster than West Indies bowling.”
The Prime Minister also underlined India’s rapid development and change in the field of infrastructure, defense and manufacturing.
