New Delhi: A wave of mourning has spread across the country on the demise of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. All the leaders of the country including PM Modi have expressed condolences. In this series, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) President Asaduddin Owaisi and Samajwadi Party supremo Akhilesh Yadav have also expressed grief over the demise of Manmohan Singh.

Akhilesh Yadav said that Dr. Manmohan Singh will be remembered as one of the most brilliant Prime Ministers of India. Singh’s decisions as both Finance Minister and Prime Minister strengthened India’s economy. He said, “Much of the progress we see today is because of the reforms initiated by Dr Manmohan Singh. “His bold steps in economic and market policies laid the foundation for India to stand at par with other countries on the global stage.”
Akhilesh Yadav praised Manmohan Singh’s unique combination of both knowledge and practicality and said that he was a brilliant economist and thoughtful leader. He is known to be a man of few words, but his decisions speak of his wisdom and foresight. There were notable changes in various fields during his tenure. The SP chief said, “The entire country is saddened by his demise. People are remembering his speeches. He will be remembered as one of the greatest Prime Ministers of India.” Yadav said, “Manmohan Singh may have now gone into the pages of history, but his contribution will live on.” He will always be remembered as a leader who gave priority to the welfare of this nation and worked with unmatched dedication.

Asaduddin Owaisi said former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will be remembered as a prime minister who made serious efforts for the upliftment of “marginalized people including minorities and backward classes”. Expressing grief over the demise of Singh, he said that the story of the late leader who suffered the pain of partition is inspiring and who, despite coming from an ordinary background, through his hard work and dedication rose to the post of Governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Finance Minister and Prime Minister.
