New Delhi. SP chief Akhilesh Yadav had recently released the list of star campaigners of his party for the assembly by-elections to be held on 9 seats in UP. The name of jailed SP leader Azam Khan is also in this list of star campaigners. Now after making Azam Khan the star campaigner, Akhilesh Yadav is surrounded by his own people. A leader of the Samajwadi Party has opposed this decision of the party president and has instead accused him. Former district president of Samajwadi Party in Rampur, Virendra Goyal, while targeting Akhilesh Yadav, said that making Azam Khan a star campaigner is part of his well-planned conspiracy.

Goyal alleged that Akhilesh Yadav has included Azam’s name in the list of star campaigners only to cater to the Muslim vote bank. The SP leader said that Azam Khan has been in jail for so long but the senior party leaders have done nothing for him. Virendra Goyal said that if the big leaders of SP had truly wanted to help Azam Khan, they would have fought for him from Parliament to the streets, but this never happened.
He said that today when a mountain of troubles has fallen on Azam Khan, his son Abdullah Azam is also in jail along with him. His wife Tanzeem Fatima has recently been released from jail, so which big leader of the party has come to her house and asked about her condition. Azam Khan has been made a star campaigner by the SP leadership to attract the supporters of Azam Khan to its side and for the sake of Muslim vote bank. Let us tell you that Azam Khan is currently lodged in Sitapur jail. Many cases are pending against him, although he has been granted bail in some cases.
