New Delhi. The speculations going on for the last several days regarding Kalkaji assembly seat of Delhi were confirmed today. Congress has announced to field Alka Lamba from Kalkaji seat against Delhi CM Atishi. A release has also been issued by Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal regarding giving ticket to Alka Lamba from Kalkaji. Congress has made a political move by giving ticket to the woman candidate against the woman candidate of Aam Aadmi Party from Kalkaji. Now it remains to be seen to whom BJP gives ticket on this seat.

At the same time, after getting the ticket, Alka Lamba surrounded CM Atishi and questioned him. When Alka Lamba was asked about the issues on which she would go before the public as she is contesting the elections against the CM, she replied that I don’t think I am contesting the elections against the CM. Arvind Kejriwal himself called Atishi a ‘temporary CM’, so he has only one more month left. Kejriwal is not going to come back anyway. All kinds of restrictions have been imposed on him by the courts, he cannot sign files, cannot call meetings, that is why he resigned.

Lamba said, being a woman holding a constitutional post, Atishi is insulting her position. Atishi should respond to Kejriwal calling him ‘temporary CM’. Let us tell you that Alka Lamba’s name comes among the flamboyant women leaders of Congress. Although she had previously been in the Aam Aadmi Party, she became disillusioned with it and returned to the Congress. In the 2015 assembly elections, Alka had contested on Aam Aadmi Party ticket and won.
