A bench of Justice Sangeeta Chandra and Justice Brijraj Singh had taken a serious stand on the case of moral violations on behalf of lawyers using a chamber of the District and Sessions Court premises of Lucknow during the hearing on July 8. The bench had ordered the chamber to evacuate the lawyers running the marriage center. Also, taking cognizance about those lawyers of Lucknow District and Sessions Court, a PIL was registered and asked for the other bench for hearing. The case was heard by Justice Ataurrahman Masudi and Justice Sriprakash Singh on 12 July. The bench also sent notice to the President of UP Bar Council and the Chairman of the Central Bar Association and also sought a response.
The bench of the Allahabad High Court has sought to know from these officials whether any action has been taken against the lawyers who have committed moral violations? The High Court also ordered its lawyer to see if the chamber number 31 has been vacant or not and the objectionable things written on the walls have been erased or not. Now the matter is to be heard on July 22. The case of running a marriage center in the lawyer’s chamber came to light when the Allahabad High Court was hearing a habeas corpus petition on 8 July.
