Prayagraj. The Allahabad High Court has held a person guilty of criminal contempt for sending a complaint against the judges against the judges. Considering the complaints and related records of Devendra Kumar Dixit, a bench of Allahabad High Court Justice Vivek Chaudhary and Justice Brijraj Singh found that the accused made insignificant and unfounded allegations of corruption against the judges. The court said that these allegations were without any basis or evidence. Those who were about to hurt the reputation of the court under Section 2 (C) of the 1971 law related to contempt and reduce its perfect.

The Allahabad High Court, who was found guilty of criminal contempt, fined only Rs 2000 keeping in mind the old age and the fact of crime. The convict will have to submit this fine in 1 month with the Registrar of Lucknow Bench of Allahabad High Court. If the fine is not paid, the Allahabad High Court has ordered the convict to bear the punishment for a one -week simple imprisonment. The court said that the contempt person submitted a complaint in April 2016. It was alleged that while taking a decision on the writ petition filed on his behalf, the High Court judges took money to dismiss the petition with a senior lawyer with a senior lawyer.

The person concerned also claimed that the petition was dismissed with cost on the first day of hearing under this alleged deal. The then Chief Justice of the Allahabad High Court took cognizance of the complaint in June 2016 and sent it to the concerned bench to initiate appropriate action on the matter. After this, Allahabad High Court gave notice of contempt to Devendra Kumar Dixit. The person who gave the complaint sought time to file the reply and then also expressed the initial objection to the contempt proceedings. This objection was rejected by the Allahabad High Court in October 2022. After this, the convict replied in December 2024 and then reviewed the court in January 2025. After which the counselor sought a cover letter from Rashtrapati Bhavan in support of his case. The Allahabad High Court said that the judges were not evidence in corruption charges and it was also unfair to ask for a cover letter from Rashtrapati Bhavan.
