A Hyderabad court granted regular bail to Telugu actor Allu Arjun in the case of death of a woman due to stampede during the premiere of the film “Pushpa 2”.
The Second Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge had earlier reserved the order for today after hearing the arguments of the lawyers representing the actor and the police.
The court directed the actor to furnish two sureties of Rs 50,000 each and furnish a bond of the same amount.
Under the bail conditions, the actor will have to appear before the investigating officer every Sunday between 10 am and 1 pm for a period of two months or until the charge sheet is filed.
The court said, “The petitioner will not obstruct the investigation in any way nor will he directly or indirectly make any inducement, threat or promise to any witness.”
The court order said that the petitioner will cooperate in the investigation and will not make any attempt to interfere.
The actor has been directed not to go abroad without the prior permission of the court till the case is disposed of.
The actor was arrested on December 13 in connection with the incident and was released from jail on December 14 after getting four weeks’ interim bail from the Telangana High Court. The actor’s interim bail was to expire on January 10.
Allu Arjun has been named as accused number 11 in the case. He had filed a regular bail petition in the court. He appeared before the court on December 27 through video conference.
A 35-year-old woman was killed and her eight-year-old son was injured during a stampede like situation as fans raced to catch a glimpse of the actor during the premiere of ‘Pushpa 2’ at Sandhya Theater in Hyderabad on December 4. .
Following the incident, the city police had registered a case under various sections of the Indian Justice Code (BNS) against Allu Arjun, his security team and the theater management at Chikkadapalli police station based on a complaint received from the family of the deceased woman.
