New Delhi. A major disaster has occurred in Almora district of Uttarakhand. Here a bus full of passengers went out of control and fell into a ditch, resulting in the death of 15 people, while around 20 people are said to be injured. The number of deaths in this accident may increase because some bodies are still trapped in the bus. At present the rescue operation is going on, SDRF team along with the local police is present on the spot. Taking immediate action in this matter, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has given instructions to suspend ARTO enforcement of the concerned areas Pauri and Almora. It has also been announced to provide financial assistance of Rs 4 lakh each to the families of the deceased and Rs 1 lakh each to the injured. The Chief Minister has instructed the Commissioner Kumaon Division to conduct a magisterial inquiry into the incident.

It is being told that there were about 45 to 50 passengers in the bus that met with the accident. This bus was coming from Pauri towards Ramnagar when this accident happened at Kupi near Marchula in Almora-Salt area. As soon as the bus fell into the ditch, there was a scream. Hearing the sound, nearby local people reached there and informed the police. After this, police and SDRF teams started rescue operations.

At the same time, Chief Minister Dhami has taken cognizance of this accident and expressed grief. CM wrote on social media post, very sad news was received about the casualties of passengers in the unfortunate bus accident that took place in Marchula of Almora district. The district administration has been instructed to conduct relief and rescue operations swiftly. At the incident site, the local administration and SDRF teams are working quickly to evacuate the injured and take them to the nearest health center for treatment. Instructions have also been given to airlift seriously injured passengers if necessary.
