Lyricist Javed Akhtar attended the release of Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut’s book Narkatala Swarg (heaven) in Mumbai on Saturday.
Many political leaders including Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray and NCP-SCP chief Sharad Pawar attended the event. Addressing the sides, Akhtar told how he has faced criticism from people due to his vocal nature in the last few years. “People of both sides abuse me. It is not unilateral.
Javed Akhtar said to Babaki, “It is true that the extremists on this side also abuse me and the extremists on that side also abuse me. This is reality. If one of them stops abusing, then I will start to worry about what I am making.” One says that I am Kafir and I will go to hell. The second says that I am jihadi and I should go to Pakistan. “I would say that if I have only the choice of Pakistan and Jahnum i.e. hell, then I would like to go to hell.”
Meanwhile, the book Launched in the program Narkatla is written by heaven Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut and is based on his political experiences. Many big leaders including Uddhav Thackeray, Sharad Pawar and Trinamool Congress MP Saket Gokhale attended the event.
