Union Home Minister Amit Shah will launch the portal ‘Bharatpol’ developed by CBI on Tuesday. This will allow state police forces and other central law enforcement agencies to share information in real time to help international police through Interpol.
Officials said that the new state-of-the-art online platform ‘Bharatpol’ will allow police forces of states and union territories and central agencies to send their requests seeking information to Interpol about fugitive persons hiding abroad or other cases.
A Home Ministry statement said that due to the increasing number of transnational crimes including cyber crimes, financial crimes, radicalization through online medium, organized crime, drug trafficking, human trafficking etc., there is a need for quick and real-time criminal investigation. A need was felt to develop international assistance.
‘PTI-‘ was the first to report on the development of ‘Bharatpol’ portal, which will facilitate the functioning of police forces of states and union territories.
