New Delhi. Union Home Minister Amit Shah, while discussing the misconceptions spread about it during the discussion on the Waqf Amendment Bill in the Lok Sabha, said that no non-Muslim will be involved in your Waqf. Along with this, he told the Congress and other opposition parties in two words that this is a law made by Parliament, everyone will have to agree. Shah said, a member said that the minority community would not accept this law. Do you want to threaten brother? This is the law of Parliament and everyone has to accept it. Will not accept what does it mean? This is the law of the Government of India, it will have a bond on everyone, it will have to be accepted.

The Union Home Minister said, I have stood in support of the bill introduced by my cabinet colleague. I am listening carefully to the discussion going on from 12 noon. I think many misconceptions are in the mind of many members either innocent or due to political reasons and many misconceptions are being spread through the House to spread throughout the country. I will try to clarify some aspects with my understanding. Shah said, no non-Muslim will be involved in your Waqf, there is no such provision in the Act. But what is the role of Waqf Board and Waqf Council? Their job is to identify and remove those who misuse Waqf properties. They should take action against those who lease for up to 100 years at a quarter to one-quarter prices. The Waqf Fund, which is for the development of minorities, to strengthen Islamic religious institutions and uplift the community, is being misused.

Amit Shah said, Waqf’s concept should be based on its use. Some people argue that practices have been going on there for centuries, but now the land has been registered as Waqf, and has been officially declared. But, can the practices of centuries ago be declared today, even of the Mughal period? If people have been offering namaz, if there is a cemetery or dargah, people would have seen it, and it would have already been declared and registered.

The Home Minister said, today many major churches and church groups of the country are supporting the Waqf Amendment Bill. He targeted the opposition and said that he believes that by opposing this bill, he will win his vote bank by winning the sympathy of Muslim brothers, but Akhilesh ji will not benefit from it because in four years the Muslim community will realize that this law is really in his favor.
