New Delhi. Paying tribute to the soldiers martyred in the IED blast by Naxalites in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh, Home Minister Amit Shah reiterated his commitment to eliminate Naxalism from the country. He said that he is extremely saddened by the news of loss of DRG soldiers in IED blast. I express my deepest condolences to the families of the brave soldiers. It is impossible to express this sorrow in words, but I assure that the sacrifice of our soldiers will not go in vain. We will eliminate Naxalism from Indian soil by March 2026.

At the same time, the country’s President Draupadi Murmu also condemned this attack while paying tribute to the martyred soldiers. He said that the Naxalite attack on security forces by Naxalites is extremely condemnable. I express my deepest condolences to the bereaved families of the brave soldiers who made supreme sacrifice for the safety of the country. Our country is determined to completely end Naxalism.

Let us tell you that Naxalites laid ambush in Bijapur and caused such a powerful explosion that about 10 feet deep crater was formed on the road. The vehicle of the security forces, which was targeted by the Naxalites through IED blast, was blown to pieces, not only this, some parts of the vehicle bounced in the air and got stuck on a tree. The bodies of many soldiers were found in mutilated condition in many parts. It is being estimated that for this IED blast, Naxalites had created a landmine by planting 100 kg of explosives. Earlier last year, in April 2023, in Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh, Naxalites had carried out a similar attack and targeted a vehicle carrying security forces. 10 policemen were martyred in that attack by Naxalites.
