Sessions Judge M Rajalakshmi has also imposed a fine of Rs 90 thousand on the convict. On May 28, the court convicted Gyansekharan and fixed today’s date for punishment. On 23 December 2024, when the student and her male friend were on the university campus, the accused allegedly recorded a video of her and made her a victim by threatening to make her viral.
The National Commission for Women also took automatic cognizance in this matter. The victim student was also reprimanded by the Chennai police for revealing the identity of the victim.
