Another child in Puducherry has been found infected with human metapneumovirus (HMPV) and is undergoing treatment at the centrally administered JIPMER here.
Puducherry Health Director V Ravichandran said in a release late on Sunday night that the girl was complaining of fever, cough and runny nose. He was admitted to JIPMER a few days ago and is undergoing treatment.
He said the child is recovering and all precautionary measures have been taken.
The first case of HMPV (a three-year-old girl) was reported in Puducherry last week and she was treated at a private hospital. On Saturday, the girl was discharged from the hospital after her complete recovery.
The director said that the Puducherry administration has taken all steps regarding the virus.
