Aviation Safety Monitoring Institute BCAS on Thursday canceled the security approval given to Türkiye’s ground handling company Celibi Airport Services India Private Limited. The development took place at a time when Türkiye has supported Pakistan and condemned India’s recent attacks on terrorist camps in Pakistan. In one order, the Civil Aviation Security Bureau (BCAS) stated that it has canceled the security approval for Celebi Airport Services India, which is part of the Turkey -based Celebi. According to Celebbi’s website, the company offers services on nine airports (Mumbai, Delhi, Cochin, Kannur, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Goa, Ahmedabad and Chennai).
The order issued by Sunil Yadav, Joint Director of Civil Aviation Security Bureau of Civil Aviation Security Bureau, stated that “Security approval in relation to Selebi Airport Services India Private Limited under Ground Handling Agency category was approved by the Director General of BCAS on November 21, 2022. Using the powers provided to the Director General of BCAS, safety in the interest of national security, security in the interest of national security The approval is canceled with immediate effect. ”

On the cancellation of security approval of Celebi Airport Services India Private Limited, Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation Muralidhar Mohol said, “Celebi Airport Services India Private Limited is a Turkish company, which provides ground services at many airports in the country. Turkey openly supported Pakistan. In view of the current situation, Turkey has become a matter of national security. It has become a matter of national security. Temporary recruitment will have to be done at Delhi-Mumbai Airport
Three companies at Delhi Airport provide both cargo and passenger terminal ground handling. These include AISATS and bird group besides Celebi. Celebi used to provide non-cargo ground handling in Mumbai. Now Mumbai has bird flight services, agile airport services and AI Airport Services Limited. Some temporary arrangements will have to be made to appoint ground handlers soon at these airports. They will then issue tenders for the appointment of another ground handler. According to sources, many ground holding companies are eyeing the occasion to increase their business.
What is the work of ground handler
Ground handlers at airports handle various tasks to ensure efficient and safe operation of aircraft on the ground. They load and unload goods, cargo and mail. They also help passengers in ground services such as check-in, boarding and fuel distribution, aircraft maintenance and cleanliness. Additionally, they take the aircraft to parking positions and ensure safe movement of aircraft on the ground.
JNU, Jamia broke the agreement

The university said that Turkey supported Pakistan when there was tension between the two countries during the action against terrorism in Pakistan. For this reason, this decision has been taken. Jamia has also broken all its academic agreements from all Universities in Türkiye. Jamia’s Chief PRO Syima Saeed said that Jamia has suspended MoU signed with Turkish institutions. We have taken this decision in the interest of the country.
Fruit seller boycotting Turkish apple
Fruit vendors of India have stopped ordering apples from Turkey. Retail traders are also not buying Turkish apples from big traders. The reasoning behind this is that Turkey, who supports the enemy, should be hurt financially. Along with the traders, the general public has also started boycotting Turkey. He said that people have stopped eating Turkish apple. Its demand has reduced considerably. According to information received from traders, more than one lakh metric tonnes of apples were imported from Türkiye in India.
