Officials said that the Union Home Ministry has given approval to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to prosecute AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal in a money laundering case related to excise policy.
The federal agency had filed a charge sheet against Kejriwal (56) before the special Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) court here after arresting him in March last year.
The Aam Aadmi Party said the Excise Policy case, registered in November 2022, is “unprecedented” as Kejriwal was arrested without any “permission”.

Kejriwal was arrested by the ED on March 21, 2024, and was released from jail after he was granted bail by the Supreme Court in September last year.
