New Delhi. AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi remains in controversy for his statements. Now he has done such a thing, due to which he may again come under the scanner. Asaduddin Owaisi has announced to give ticket to the accused of riots in Delhi Assembly elections. Asaduddin Owaisi has given ticket from AIMIM to Delhi riots accused and former Aam Aadmi Party councilor Tahir Hussain. Owaisi has declared Tahir Hussain as his candidate from Mustafabad seat of Delhi. Let us tell you that Owaisi intends to field AIMIM candidates on at least 10 seats in the Delhi Assembly elections.
Delhi riots accused Tahir Hussain’s wife Shama and son Shadab Hussain met Asaduddin Owaisi on Tuesday. After meeting Tahir Hussain’s wife and son, Owaisi posted its photo on Instagram and wrote that Tahir Hussain has joined AIMIM. He will be a candidate from Mustafabad Assembly seat of Delhi. Asaduddin Owaisi wrote that Tahir Hussain’s family members and supporters met me today and joined AIMIM. When Tahir Hussain was arrested after the 2020 Delhi riots, the Aam Aadmi Party had expelled this councillor. Recently, Delhi High Court had canceled an FIR registered against Tahir Hussain.
Tahir Hussain is accused of carrying out attacks from the rooftop of his building during the February 2020 riots in Delhi. Tahir Hussain has also been accused of firing and arson. Now BJP and other parties will get a chance to corner Asaduddin Owaisi. Aam Aadmi Party has also distanced itself from Tahir Hussain. In such a situation, questions can be raised on giving ticket to Tahir. Tahir Hussain is still in jail. Delhi Assembly elections are to be held in the month of February 2025. A notification for this is likely to be issued in January. Aam Aadmi Party has formed the government in Delhi twice. Last time it had won 62 out of 70 seats.
