Sonipat. Police have arrested Ali Khan Mahmudabad, Assistant Professor of Ashoka University in Sonepat, Haryana. Ali Khan Mahmudabad, who taught at Ashoka University, is accused of making objectionable remarks about the Indian Air Force Wing Commander Vyomika Singh and Colonel Sophia Qureshi in the Indian Army. According to the news of newspaper Amar Ujala, Ali Khan Mahmudabad has been arrested after recording the statement of the sarpanch of Jathedi village in Sonepat. The sarpanch of Jathedi village has given a statement to the police that on social media, he read objectionable statements about the Indian Army, besides wing commander Vyomika Singh and Colonel Sophia Qureshi. This Ali Khan was put on social media by Mahmudabad.

The Haryana State Women’s Commission himself took cognizance of the social media post of Ali Khan Mahmudabad. On behalf of Assistant Professor of Ashoka University, Haryana State Women’s Commission had complained to the DGP in the case of objectionable remarks on women officers. Citing the High Court’s remarks against Madhya Pradesh minister Vijay Shah, Haryana State Women’s Commission had asked to register a case against Assistant Professor Ali Khan Mahmudabad of Ashoka University. The Haryana State Women’s Commission also summoned Assistant Professor Ali Khan Mahmudabad, accused in this case, but he did not reach there.

Earlier, Madhya Pradesh Minister Vijay Shah had given a controversial statement about the army’s Colonel Sophia Qureshi, who informed the media about Operation Sindoor. Vijay Shah apologized for his statement on the uproar. At the same time, the Madhya Pradesh High Court had taken his statement in cognizance and demanded the Madhya Pradesh Police to register a case. Vijay Shah also went to the Supreme Court to cancel the case, but he did not get relief from there. The Madhya Pradesh High Court later also questioned the language of the FIR and ordered to register it again.
