ASI Team Inspected 5 Shrines And 19 Wells In Sambhal: ASI Team Inspected 5 Shrines And 19 Wells In Sambhal

New Delhi. Today in Sambhal, UP, the team of Archaeological Department (ASI) inspected 5 pilgrimage sites and 19 wells including the ancient Shiva temple. Around 6 am in the morning, a four-member team of ASI started the carbon dating work which continued for 8 to 10 hours. ASI studied the historical importance of Bhadrakashram, Swargadeep, Chakrapani, ancient pilgrimage cremation temple and other places. Due to security reasons, information related to the inspection was kept secret. Sambhal DM Dr. Rajendra Pensia said that the inspection work has been completed.

The ASI team had requested the administration to keep media coverage away during the inspection, due to which not much information has been made available in this regard at present. Let us tell you that recently violence broke out in Sambhal after the court order to survey Jama Masjid. Probably keeping this in mind, the ASI team completed its work quietly. Let us tell you that last week, under the leadership of Sambhal DM Dr. Rajendra Pensia and SP Krishna Kumar Vishnoi, the electricity department and policemen had launched a campaign against electricity theft. During this time, a temple came into the notice of the police which was closed for 46 years.

When the police opened this temple, ancient Shivalinga and the idol of Bajrangbali were installed there. After this, an ancient well which had been blocked by the local Muslim people was also freed from possession by the police. Since the doors of the temple were opened, daily worship is taking place there. This temple is in the locality of SP MP Burke. Earlier Hindu population used to live there but later Muslims completely settled there and they captured the temple and locked the sanctum sanctorum. There was talk of inspection of the same ancient temple by ASI.
