New Delhi. The team of Archaeological Department of India (ASI) conducted survey for the second consecutive day today in Sambhal, UP. ASI team reached Kalki Vishnu temple complex today. The team surveyed an old well located in the temple. Earlier on Friday also, a four-member team of ASI had inspected 5 pilgrimage sites and 19 wells including Bhadrakashram, Swargadeep, Chakrapani, ancient pilgrimage cremation temple in Sambhal. Kalki Vishnu Temple priest Mahendra Prasad Sharma said that the well which was surveyed by the ASI team is ‘Krish Well’. Description of this well is also found in Skanda Purana. The well is open, but there is no water in it now.

Whereas Sambhal SDM Vandana Mishra, while telling about the survey of the well in Kalki Vishnu Temple, said that the ASI team had come here. Mainly he inspected the well. The team members also visited Kalki Vishnu Temple. The ASI team also inspected the paintings on some walls of the temple which were getting damaged. Let us tell you that after the Sambhal violence, it has become the center of discussion. Recently DM Dr. Rajendra Pensia had launched a campaign against electricity theft here.

During this raid, the police got information about a temple in a Muslim dominated area which was closed for almost 46 years. When the police opened the lock of that temple, the idol of Bajrang Bali and Shivalinga were installed there. The CO cleaned the dust accumulated on the statues with his hands. After this, the responsibility of surveying this temple regarding its antiquity was handed over to ASI. During this time, the police also found a well near the temple which was filled. Now the survey work of all those ancient wells and temples is being done.
