New Delhi. Assam Rifles and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel on Tuesday killed 10 armed miscreants in Manipur’s Jiribam area. These miscreants belonged to the Kuki community and were armed with weapons and attacking the CRPF post. In retaliation, CRPF and Assam Rifles personnel took charge and killed ten miscreants. A CRPF jawan has also been injured in this attack, who has been admitted to the hospital for treatment. Violence continues between the Kuki and Meitei communities in Manipur, due to which the security situation in the state remains worrisome. According to the police, miscreants have already attacked security forces’ positions several times and also looted weapons from police stations. This time the security forces gave a befitting reply and foiled the miscreants.

Farmers also attacked in Imphal, one injured
A farmer working in the field was injured in his hand when militants fired from the hills in Imphal East district on Monday morning. Police officials said that in the ethnic conflict-affected Imphal valley, farmers have been continuously being attacked from the hilly areas for the last three days. Due to these attacks, there is an atmosphere of fear among the farmers living in the outer areas of the valley, due to which the harvesting of paddy crop is being affected.
Militants from the hilly areas of neighboring Kangpokpi district attacked farmers working in paddy fields in Yaingangpokpi Shantikhongban area of Imphal East district, injuring one farmer. The injured farmer was admitted to Yaingangpokpi Primary Health Center for treatment, where his condition is now said to be out of danger.

More than 200 deaths so far in Manipur, thousands rendered homeless
More than 200 people have lost their lives and thousands have been rendered homeless in the ethnic conflict that began in May 2023 between the Meitei and Kuki communities of Manipur. According to police, firing was also done from hilly areas in Churachandpur district on Saturday. At the same time, a 34-year-old female farmer working on a paddy field in Seton area of Vishnupur district died after being shot. Similar attacks also took place in Sansabi, Sabungkhok Khunau and Thamnapokpi areas of Imphal East district.
