Prayagraj. The families and close ones of Marhum Mafia Don Atik Ahmed have captured Waqf properties worth 71 crore. According to the news of news channel NDTV, the properties that Atik’s family and close are in the houses, shops and multi -storey buildings. It is also alleged that the close and family members of Atik Ahmed took out the soil from Waqf’s land and sold them. In this case, the Prayagraj police had also registered a case against 7 people of Atik’s family on 18 November 2023.

According to the news of the news channel, the UP Sunni Central Waqf Board and the Commissioner of Prayagraj examined the possession of Waqf properties. Investigation revealed that Syed Mohammad Ashiam, who was then Mutavalli of the Prayagraj Waqf Board, captured Atik’s family and close to Waqf properties. It is alleged that Mutavalli took money instead. On the disclosure of the investigation, Syed Mohammad Ashyam was removed from the post of Mutavalli and appointed as the new Mutavalli. Mutavalli is one who takes care of Waqf’s properties. According to the news, a bulldozer was run on some Waqf properties in the possession of Atik Ahmed’s family and close ones. Action is underway on the rest.

The news channel has quoted the documents as saying that Syed Mohammad Ashyyam, who was Mutavalli, took money from Atik Ahmed’s family and registered 18 crore worth of Waqf property for 29 years and 6 months. After this, these properties were captured through fake documents. Mohammad Tariq, brother-in-law of Atik’s deceased brother Ashraf, is accused of capturing Waqf property worth 2-3 crores on GT Road. It is alleged that all crores of more properties on GT Road are occupied by relatives of Ashraf and Atik. Among them, illegal shops and multi -storey residents were built.
