New Delhi. Former Delhi CM Atishi will now be the Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly. Atishi was elected a leader in a meeting of Aam Aadmi Party Legislature Party on Sunday. Arvind Kejriwal, the biggest leader of the Aam Aadmi Party and former CM, was also present in this meeting. Atishi has won the Delhi Assembly election from Kalkaji seat. He defeated BJP’s Ramesh Vidhuri. Atishi had earlier won from Kalkaji assembly seat. Those big leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party are among those who won the Delhi Assembly elections this time. Whereas, leaders like Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, Satyendra Jain and Saurabh Bhardwaj themselves lost.

Atishi was made the CM of Delhi when the Supreme Court imposed several conditions on Arvind Kejriwal in the liquor scam case. Arvind Kejriwas was told by the Supreme Court that he would not be able to go to the Delhi Secretariat. Also, you will neither be able to see any file nor sign. Earlier, despite going to jail, Arvind Kejriwal did not resign from the post of CM of Delhi. When Arvind Kejriwal made Atishi the CM of Delhi, Atishi used to keep an empty chair with her. He said that when Arvind Kejriwal wins in the next election, he will again take over the CM’s chair. Whereas, Arvind Kejriwal lost in the election, his Aam Aadmi Party also got defeated.
The session of the Delhi Assembly is going to start on Monday i.e. February 24. The first MLAs will be administered the oath of office and secrecy. After this, the newly elected CM Rekha Gupta will place the CAG report on the table of the assembly. The BJP alleges that the CAG report has a raw-chitta of Aam Aadmi Party government scams. For this reason, Arvind Kejriwal and Atishi did not keep the report in the assembly as their CM. It remains to be seen what is revealed in the CAG report and how the opposition as Leader, Atishi argues to defend his party.
