Mumbai Some time ago politics was heated in the name of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. Now the issue of Aurangzeb is expected to heat up politics again. Maharashtra Minister Sanjay Shirsat has said that soon the name of Khuldabad town of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar in Maharashtra will be changed. Aurangzeb’s grave is in Khuldabad itself. The politics is hot due to this tomb of Aurangzeb. The demand is arising that Aurangzeb’s grave should be removed from Khuldabad. Khuldabad town is 25 km from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (East Aurangabad). Apart from Aurangzeb, there are many tombs including his son.
Sanjay Shirsat said that Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar was earlier called Khadki. It was later named Aurangabad. According to Shirsat, Khuldabad’s name was also earlier Ratnapur. Aurangabad and Khuldabad were named during Aurangzeb. Sanjay Shirsat said that now the Maharashtra government will change the name of Khuldabad to Ratnapur. Sanjay Shirsat also said that the names of all the places in Maharashtra are “later” will be changed. He said that a memorial will also be built in Khuldabad. In which the history of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj will be shown. Sanjay Shirsat had earlier said that Aurangzeb was cruel and tortured Sambhaji Maharaj. Because of which there is no place for Aurangzeb’s tomb in Maharashtra.
This atmosphere against Aurangzeb is created after the release of “Chhawa” cinema. Chhawa shows the battle of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj and Aurangzeb. The Chhava shows how Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj and his fellow poet Kalash were tortured on the orders of Aurangzeb. According to history, Aurangzeb’s army arrested Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj and poet Kalash from Sardesai Wada in Sangameshwar. Both of them were then murdered after a terrible torture for 40 days. This is why there is resentment among the people against Aurangzeb.
