Azam Khan gets momentary relief from High Court! Ban on final decision in eviction case

The Allahabad High Court has stayed the final decision or order against former Samajwadi Party MP Mohammad Azam Khan and others in the 2016 out eviction case. The case started with 12 different firs, which has now turned into an integrated case. The court accepted the concerns of procedural fairness and postponed the verdict by 3 July 2025.

The case is related to 12 FIRS recorded at Kotwali police station in Rampur district between 2019-2020, which is related to the alleged incident of demolishing unauthorized structures on Waqf Property Yatim Khana (Waqf No. 157) on 15 October 2016. The petition by Azam Khan and his associate Virendra Goyal, which challenged the lower court orders of May 30, 2025, listed before a single judge in the High Court for hearing on 18 June. The petition challenged the order to recall the witnesses and to reject the demand for the 2016 evolution of the 2016 videographic evidence.

This decision of the High Court is a relief for Azam Khan, which is already facing many legal disputes. The court has set the next date of hearing 3 July. The matter reflects complex relations between politics and law enforcement in Uttar Pradesh.
