At the same time, the latest news is that Bangladesh has built embankments on the Muhuri river in Kalikapur in its Feni district. This embankment built in Bangladesh is 8 to 9 feet. Due to the construction of this embankment, there may be a threat to all the villages of North Belonia, Ishaan Chandranagar and Ballamukh in Tripura during the rains. People of the area say that due to this embankment during the monsoon, water will come towards Indian territory and it is expected to cause floods and waterlogging.
After receiving the news of Bangladesh being built by Bangladesh, the people of the above areas of Tripura have demanded from the government to make a big sewer like a canal from Ballamukh to Ishaan Chandranagar. So that if there is a waterlogging due to the embankment on Bangladesh, then the area is not damaged. Kiran Gitte, Secretary, PWD Department of Tripura Government, will submit a report to the state government after visiting all three places. Tripura MLA Dipankar Sen has told the news agency PTI that due to the embankment on the Muhuri river in Bangladesh, people are worrying a lot in the area. Till now during the monsoon, the water of the Ganges river flows through Bangladesh through the Farakka barrage of India. The water flowing from India also goes through the Muhuri River. The creation of the river embankment will change the path of water flowing.
As long as Sheikh Hasina’s government was in Bangladesh, relations with India were very good. After the fall of Sheikh Hasina’s government on 5 August 2024, when an executive government is formed in Bangladesh, an atmosphere is being created against India.
