Bhadrak. A sensational case of murder of a woman named Mahalakshmi and keeping her body in 59 pieces in the fridge came to light in Karnataka’s capital Bengaluru. Now the police claim that accused Mukti Ranjan Rai, who murdered Mahalakshmi, committed suicide in Bhadrak district of Odisha. According to the police, Mukti Ranjan Rai, accused of Mahalakshmi’s murder, hanged himself near Bhuinpur village between 5 and 5.30 am on Wednesday. Mahalakshmi’s body was recovered in pieces from the fridge of the house in Vinayak Nagar, Bengaluru. Mahalakshmi’s husband suspected Ashraf of murdering his wife. He said that Ashraf lived with Mahalakshmi and he is missing since the incident.

On the other hand, Bangalore police was already assuming that Mukti Ranjan Rai was the murderer of Mahalakshmi. According to the police of Dhusuri police station of Odisha, Mukti Ranjan Rai committed suicide to avoid arrest. Police claim that Mukti Ranjan Rai has admitted in the suicide note that he killed a woman named Mahalakshmi in Bangalore and chopped the body into pieces and kept it in the fridge. Bangalore police had formed 8 teams to arrest the murderer. Police say that Mukti Ranjan Rai used to work in a shop in a mall along with Mahalakshmi. Bangalore police came to know that ever since Mahalakshmi was not going to work, Mukti Ranjan Rai was also not seen at the shop.
Police told the media that Mukti Ranjan’s mobile phone location was first found in West Bengal. Later his location was found in Odisha. According to the police, Mukti Ranjan Rai’s family lives in Odisha. Investigation there revealed that he is hiding in the forest. When the police reached the forest to catch Mukti Ranjan Rai, the alleged murderer of Mahalakshmi, his body was found hanging from a tree. Police is investigating why Mukti Ranjan Rai killed Mahalakshmi.
