New Delhi. People living in Bengaluru will now have to pay more money for water than before. The Congress government of Karnataka has increased water tax in Bengaluru. This is another setback for the Bengaluru residents already facing inflation. Increased water prices have been implemented today i.e. from April 10. The water bill will be released with increased prices in the month of May. Earlier, the Karnataka government had also increased the charge of garbage from metro, electricity and even houses in Bengaluru.
The Karnataka government recently increased the prices of Nandini milk by Rs 4 per liter. With this, yogurt also became expensive. Now water prices have been increased. State Deputy CM DK Shivkumar had indicated some time ago that the government is going to increase water tax. Ram Prasath Manohar, chairman of Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board, said that tax has been increased due to increasing water consumption and deficit.
New tariff rates for domestic users
– 0.15 paise per liter charge increased up to 8,000 liters per month
– 8,001–25,000 liters per month 0.40 paise per liter
– 25,001–50,000 liters per month 0.80 paise per liter
-1 rupee per liter up to 50,000-1 lakh liters per month
Different rates for large apartments
– 0.30 paise per liter up to 2 lakh liters per month
-0.60 paise per liter up to 2-5 lakh liters per month
-1.00 paise per liter up to 5-10 lakh liters per month
Tariff rates for commercial use
Based on the monthly use of water in commercial buildings, offices, tariffs have been increased from 0.90 paise to 1.90 paise per liter.
