New Delhi. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is constantly being targeted by the central government and BJP over the increasing crimes against women and incidents of sexual exploitation in West Bengal. West Bengal Governor Dr. C.V. Anand Bose himself has raised questions on the government’s attitude towards law and order in the state. Now Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel wrote a long post on social media addressing the Chief Minister of West Bengal in which he said, Mamta Didi, we need action, not rhetoric. He drew Mamata Banerjee’s attention to quick action on some cases related to sexual harassment in Gujarat.
Mamta Didi, we need actions, not just words.

We should not just talk, the Gujarat CM said. There are POCSO Act and other strong laws for the protection of women, but their effectiveness depends on the prompt and fair action of the local police. From investigation to punishment, timely justice is important.
Attention was drawn to these matters-
– Pandesara POCSO case of Surat: Chargesheet filed in 10 days, rapist sentenced to death in 22 days.
– Poona Police Station case: The rapist was sentenced to death in just 32 days.
– Not only in the rape cases, but also in the murder of the 22-year old daughter, Gujarat Police filed charge sheet in 9 days and the murderer was sentenced to death within 75 days, giving justice to the victim’s family.
Bhavnagar POCSO case: Chargesheet in 24 hours and justice in 52 days.
– 5 years imprisonment for those found guilty of stalking and harassment.
The Gujarat CM further said that women’s safety is a fundamental human right, not a political issue. We must act with urgency, transparency and collective responsibility. Let us ensure that our mothers, daughters and sisters live without fear. No more delays, no more excuses, only prompt action and accountability.
