New Delhi. Chaitanya Baghel, son of former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, has been arrested by the ED. This action has been taken in the money laundering case related to the liquor scam. Earlier this morning, ED raided Bhupesh Baghel’s house in Bhilai. Chaitanya lives in this house with his father. After the ongoing raid since morning, ED officer has now arrested Chaitanya and taken with him. In this case, the ED had also questioned Chaitanya before. Bhupesh Baghel himself gave information about the raid through social media.

The ED has come to my house before, today has come again, we will cooperate fully with the investigating agencies, we believe in democracy and court.

It is worth noting that earlier this scam was said to be 2161 crores, but recently an investigation by the Economic Offenses Investigation (EOW) has revealed that there has been a scam of 3200 crores more than that. In the tenure of the Congress government in Chhattisgarh, in this liquor scam case between 2019 and 2022, he has recently suspended 22 of the 29 officers of the Excise Department with immediate effect.
