News of a major lapse regarding the safety of passengers is coming to light. A cartridge has been recovered from the pocket of an Air India passenger at IGI Airport. After this Air India has complained about this to the airport police. The matter is said to be of 27th October. Giving information, Air India said that on October 27, it was reported that an ammunition cartridge was found in the pocket of a seat in a flight coming from Dubai to Delhi. The cartridge was found in flight number AI916 after it landed at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport.
Flight landed at Delhi airport
An airline spokesperson said in a statement issued on Saturday that the flight took off from Dubai and landed at Delhi airport. Without giving details of the incident, the airline said all passengers disembarked safely after the cartridges were found. “Air India strictly followed the prescribed security protocols and lodged a complaint with the airport police,” Air India said.
510 flights received threats in 16 days
This incident occurred when the country’s airlines were receiving continuous bomb threats. Let us tell you that in 16 days, more than 510 domestic and international flights have received bomb threats, which later turned out to be false. These threats were mostly given through social media.
Minister held emergency meeting
After this incident, the central government called an emergency meeting in the third week of October. Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu said law enforcement agencies were actively investigating all cases of bomb threats against airlines and the government was closely monitoring the situation. Naidu chaired the meeting with officials from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Home Ministry and Civil Aviation Ministry.
