New Delhi. The Railway Ministry has announced bonus for its employees this year, which has provided relief to lakhs of railway employees. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has announced that Railway employees will be given 78 days of Productivity Linked Bonus (PLB) this year. A total of 11,72,240 Railway employees will directly benefit from this decision.
Big decision taken under the chairmanship of Prime Minister
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that there was a proposal to give 76 days bonus to the employees, but in the cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, it was decided to increase this bonus to 78 days. A total amount of Rs 2029 crore has been allocated for this bonus, which will be distributed among different categories of employees.
Bonus of Rs 2029 crore will be distributed
According to the statement issued by the Railway Ministry, a total of Rs 2029 crore will be paid as bonus for 78 days. This bonus will be available to various categories of railway employees, including Track Maintainer, Loco Pilot, Train Manager, Station Master, Supervisor, Technician, Technician Helper, Pointsman, Ministerial Staff and other Group ‘C’ employees.
More than 13 lakh employees will get benefits
The Railway Minister also informed that a total of 1,19,952 new employees have been added to the Railways in the financial year 2023-24, while the process of recruitment of 58,642 employees is going on. By March 31, 2024, the total number of railway employees will be 13,14,992.
Bonus will be paid before Durga Puja
The Railway Ministry clarified that this bonus of the employees will be deposited in their accounts before the holidays of Durga Puja and Dussehra. This year the maximum bonus amount for 78 days has been fixed at Rs 17,951.
