Gurugram Police has deployed over 2,000 policemen to ensure that the New Year is celebrated without any hassles. Officials gave this information on Sunday.
He said that MG Road, Cyber Hub and Sector 29 market have been identified as major sensitive spots where maximum partygoers are expected to reach and most of the police personnel will be deployed here to keep the situation under control.
Police have allotted 10 parking spaces around these sites.
According to the official statement of Gurugram Police, special programs and ceremonies will be organized mainly at 22 places in Gurugram for the New Year celebrations.
It said that apart from deploying heavy police force, police counter assault, police riders, police PCR, cranes, fire brigade and ambulance teams have also been deployed at all these places with all safety equipment.
Major security arrangements have been made in the markets of MG Road, Cyber Hub, Golf Course Road, DLF Phase-1 and Sector 29. Police said that around 1,044 policemen will be deployed at these 22 locations, 10 parking lots and police posts.
Gurugram Police spokesperson said, “All police personnel will work together to ensure law and order and maintain peace in the city. We have identified major party points and will ensure unhindered movement of people and traffic there.”
“We have deployed additional forces in all sensitive areas and regular checking of vehicles will start a day in advance. We have also set up special check posts on roads leading to Gurugram from other districts,” the spokesperson said.
The spokesperson said that police teams under the supervision of ACP and DCP rank officers will check the areas to ensure security and hassle-free celebrations.
Apart from this, 68 checkpoints will also be made across the city. A senior police officer said that they will not tolerate those who violate traffic rules and especially those who drive under the influence of alcohol.
The spokesperson said, “We will keep a close watch on those who create trouble during the New Year celebrations and those who affect law and order. Strict action will be taken immediately against them. No hooliganism will be allowed and policemen even in civil dress will be Has been deployed.”
