New Delhi. An important relief news has emerged for the victims of 1984 anti-Sikh riots in Delhi. Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has approved major relaxation in recruitment norms to provide employment to these victims. Under this relaxation, complete relaxation up to 55 years has been given in the required educational qualification and age limit for 88 applicants.

A Rajnivas official informed that this relaxation has been approved by the Lieutenant Governor for appointments in various government departments. Relief has been given to these applicants by relaxation in educational qualification and increasing the age limit up to 55 years.
What did the LG office say?
A note issued from the Lieutenant Governor’s office said the decision has been taken after repeated representations and recent meetings with the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, public representatives and victims’ groups.
This relaxation has been given under the rehabilitation package approved by the Union Home Ministry on 16 January 2006. This package includes provisions for rehabilitation and employment of anti-Sikh riot victims.
