In Bihar’s Gopalganj district, 33 teachers have been dismissed from service, as the High Court has upheld the decision of the State Appellate Authority regarding their irregular appointments, on Saturday an official gave this information. The teachers were appointed to such posts, which were not officially declared as vacant after resignation of former officials or after their death.
According to District Education Officer (DEO) Yogesh Kumar, some teacher posts where original post holders died or they resigned after 2010 were not formally declared vacant. However, the District Appellate Authority later declared these seats vacant and facilitated the appointment of 33 teachers.
DEO Kumar told ANI, “Some seats after 2010, out of which the presiding teachers had either died or they had resigned, were not declared vacant. However, the District Appellate Authority declared these seats vacant and appointed these (33) teachers on those seats. Against this order we went to the state appellate authorities against this order, and they were ordered from their salary. Recovery of the given amount should be done. This teacher has also gone to the High Court against the order of the State Appellate Authority.
Challenging the move, the District Education Officers raised the matter before the State Appellate Authority, which ruled against the appointments and ordered the cancellation of the appointment. The authority also directed that the salary given to them should be recovered.
