Eight people were killed and two others were injured in a collision between a car and a tractor in Katihar district of Bihar. The police gave this information on Tuesday.
He said that the car riders were returning from a wedding ceremony, when the accident occurred near the Sameli Block office on Monday and Tuesday. He said that efforts to identify the victims are going on.
Katihar Superintendent of Police Vaibhav Sharma told PTI-Bhasha, “At least eight people were killed and two others were injured in a collision between an SUV and a tractor coming from the opposite direction on National Highway 31 near Sameli Block Office.
Police said the police immediately reached the spot and rushed the victims to the nearest government hospital, where eight people were declared dead.
He informed that both the injured are undergoing treatment in the hospital.
According to local people, the victims are residents of Supaul, the SP said that it is believed that all the victims were traveling in the SUV. He said that the bodies have been sent for post -mortem and further investigation is on.
