In Bihar, a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA on Monday made ‘appeals’ to Muslims to ‘stay inside the house’ and ‘celebrate Hindus without any obstruction’. The festival of Holi is on Friday. The month of Ramadan is also going on.
MLA Haribhushan Thakur Bachaul, MLA from Bisfi assembly constituency in Madhubani district, made these comments during a conversation with reporters in the assembly premises.
Thakur said, “I want to appeal to Muslims that there are 52 Zuma (Friday) in a year. One of them is getting a festival of Holi. Therefore, they should allow Hindus to celebrate the festival and if they are colored, they should not be considered bad. If they have any problem with this, then they should stay in homes. This is necessary to maintain communal harmony. ”
When he was told that Muslims keep Rosa during Ramadan and offer special prayers on Friday, the MLA said, “They have always had double standards. They are happy by setting up stalls that sell Abir-Gulal, but if they get some stains on their clothes, then they start to fear the fear of Djkh (hell).
Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MLA and former minister Israel Mansuri objected to Bachaul’s statements, saying, “There has been no problem between Hindus and Muslims about the festivals. Hindus join our iftar parties. Why are BJP MLAs worried about Muslims on Holi? These people create communal tension for political dispute and pretend to be the leader of Sanatan. ‘
However, the state’s Minority Affairs Minister and Janata Dal (United) leader Jama Khan said that “there will be no untoward incident.” The administration has been given clear instructions to ensure harmony during the festival. ‘
